According to Virginia Tech Sports War, the changes to the uniform are minor, but the shoulder stripes on the new jersey appear slanted as opposed to the straight up-and-down look the shoulder stripes possessed in previous years.

Last season, the Hokies had several different uniform combinations. That will likely be the case this year, but the video featured the home “Chicago maroon” jersey, the away white jersey and the alternate burnt orange jersey.
Virginia Tech fans will get to see the new uniforms in action officially for the first time on Monday, Sept. 3 at 8 p.m. when the Hokies visit Florida State. This will be the first matchup between the two schools since 2012 when the Seminoles won, 28-22.
The Hokies will play their home opener the following week on Saturday, Sept. 3 against William & Mary.
But Virginia Tech will be on the field once before all of that. On Saturday, the Hokies will host their 2018 spring game at 3 p.m.
