One of the recruiting goals for every team is to land a top signal caller, preferably early so he becomes a tool in recruiting other top players. Wake Forest achieved that this week.
The Demon Deacons landed 4-star quarterback Brendon Clark, who announced his commitment to Wake Forest on Monday, for the 2019 recruiting class. Clark is the fourth-best pro-styled quarterback and 72nd ranked overall player in his class according to the 247Sports composite rankings.
Standing at 6-foot-2 and 190 pounds, Clark is from Midlothian, VA and goes to Manchester High School. He also received an offer from Maryland.
Clark is the first prospect Wake Forest has landed for the 2019 recruiting class. The fact he is a highly-regarded high school quarterback should help the Demon Deacons sign other top offensive talent for 2019 and maybe even next year.
Wake Forest has 14 players committed for the 2018 recruiting class. The 247Sports composite rankings rate the class 11th in the ACC and 49th overall in the country.
