Seeking a starting opportunity, Gardner Minshew decided to transfer to Washington State. The quarterback will likely get his chance with the Cougars.
ESPN’s Adam Rittenberg listed Minshew as a player who will “shake up” college football in the 2018 season.
Here’s what ESPN had to say about the former East Carolina quarterback:
“Although Minshew played for bad East Carolina teams, he put up solid numbers, passing for 3,487 yards and 24 touchdowns in two seasons. He wisely passed up an opportunity to likely hold a clipboard at Alabama for a chance to lead Washington State’s offense. The Cougars are replacing record-setting quarterback Luke Falk.”
Since Falk is now playing for the Tennessee Titans, Minshew has a good shot to be No. 1 on the depth chart for Washington State this season. We’ll see if the quarterback can put up similar numbers in the Pac-12.
