Reigning Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Year Vita Vea has signed his first NFL contract.
Vea sign a four-year, $14.8 million deal that includes an $8.8 million signing bonus, per The Tampa Bay Times’ Rick Stroud. Vea’s contract is fully guaranteed and includes a fifth-year option that is customary for first-round picks.
Tampa Bay drafted Vea with the 12th pick in the 2018 NFL Draft. Since drafting the defensive tackle, Buccaneers coaches have been complimentary of the former Washington Huskies standout.
The 6-foot-4, 347-pound defensive tackle is expected to start alongside of perennial Pro Bowl defensive tackle Gerald McCoy in Tampa Bay.
