Sports Illustrated released a list of the top-100 college football players heading into the 2018 season, and Washington quarterback Jake Browning made the list, coming in at No. 92.
Browning, a senior, is considered to be one of the best QBs in the Pac-12 and leads a Washington team that could make a run at another College Football Playoff berth in 2018. Browning was named Pac-12 Offensive Player of the Year in 2016, along with being named first-team All-Pac-12. He also finished sixth in the Heisman Trophy voting in 2016 and is expected to contend for the award again in 2018. Last season he was named honorable mention All-Pac-12.
Here is what Sports Illustrated’s Chris Johnson wrote about Browning:
After earning Pac-12 Offensive Player of the Year honors and placing sixth in the Heisman Trophy voting in 2016, Browning faded from the national spotlight last season. He is primed for a senior-season resurgence despite the departure of No. 1 wide receiver Dante Pettis. Browning’s experience and accurate arm could give Washington the edge over Stanford in what should be a heated race for the Pac-12 North crown.
