Michael Carter III is transferring to South Dakota State, the men’s basketball program announced on Friday.
Carter, who is from Seattle, played his freshman season last year with the Washington Huskies. The 6-foot-4 guard averaged 1.3 points in limited action with the Huskies.
“Michael is a dynamic guard with the ability to make plays for his teammates as well as score the ball,” South Dakota State coach T.J. Otzelberger said, per the school’s athletic department. “His character, work ethic and desire to be great will impact our program immediately.”
At South Dakota State he’ll get more time on the court after he sits out one year due to NCAA transfer rules.
Carter will have three years of eligibility remaining for the Jackrabbits.
