Washington’s first-ever trip to the College World Series marks a major milestone in the baseball program’s history. And now that milestone has an official start time, as the Huskies will open CWS play in Omaha, Neb., against Mississippi State at 5 p.m. PT on Saturday.
The game will be shown on ESPN.

The Huskies (35-24) advanced to the CWS with a thrilling 6-5 win in 10 innings at Cal State-Fullerton on Sunday, a game they led 3-1 entering the ninth. Mississippi State (37-27) won in extra innings at Vanderbilt on Sunday to earn a trip to Omaha.
If Washington wins its opener, it will play the winner of the North Carolina-Oregon State game on Monday. If the Huskies lose to Mississippi State, they’ll play the UNC-OSU loser in an elimination match on Monday.
