Of the 80 or so scholarship offers Washington has extended to players in the 2019 recruiting class, more than a dozen are for defensive ends. So far the Huskies have yet to get one of those edge rushers to commit, but that could change in the near future with 3-star Peter Mpagi including Washington among his top eight choices.

The 6-foot-4, 224-pound Mpagi is ranked by 247Sports as the No. 1,045 player in the country and the 69th-best weak-side defensive end. From Richmond, Texas, he is his state’s No. 134 prospect and has offers from 23 schools, with Washington extending its offer on May 9.
Washington currently has eight commitments for 2019, two of which are defensive tackles. Its class ranks No. 23 in the country and second-best in the Pac-12.
