The Washington Huskies were one win away from Omaha on Saturday. They’ll need Sunday to get there.
A day after defeating Cal State Fullerton 8-5, Washington fell to the Titans 5-2 Saturday in Fullerton, Calif.
It took a team effort from the Titans, with four Fullerton batters contributing 1 RBI each. The Titans posted 2 runs in the second inning and another 2 in the fifth to take a 4-1 lead deep into the game. Fullerton led 5-1 in the bottom of the ninth when Washington’s Joe Wainhouse went deep for the second time in the game to cut the lead to 5-2, but that was as close as the Huskies would get.

Jordan Jones took the loss for Washington, pitching 4⅔ innings and allowing 7 hits and 4 earned runs.
Washington and Fullerton will meet again at 9 p.m. ET Sunday.
