Having good quarterback depth is a luxury in college football. Washington might just have the best quarterback depth chart in the country. At least, that is what CBS Sports believes.
CBS Sports ranked the best quarterback situations in college football and the Washington Huskies were No. 1 on their list.
“[Jake] Browning has his limitations, but he’s amassed almost 9,000 career passing yards entering his fourth season as starter. Then, the Huskies get two years of an even more talented QB in [Jacob] Eason. Then, in 2021, Chris Petersen gets his choice of what will likely be three former 4-star arms to take over. [Quarterback coach Bush] Hamdan is also a rising star,” CBS Sports’ Barton Simmons said.
After Browning, the Huskies have Jake Haener (redshirt freshman), Colson Yankoff (freshman), Jacob Sirmon (freshman) and Jacob Eason (junior), who will be eligible in 2019.
The Huskies beat out Alabama for the No. 1 spot in terms of quarterback depth. The Crimson Tide have the most electrifying quarterback competition in college football. Washington’s starter is already solidified but when Browning leaves, the Huskies will find themselves in a similar competitive battle.
