What’s that rumbling you hear? Could it be?

Washington landed a fresh commitment on Sunday, this time from 4-star defensive lineman Sama Paama (Honolulu, Hawaii). The 6-foot-5, 325-pound defender gave his verbal commitment to the Huskies just before leaving his unofficial visit to Seattle, according to Dawgman.com’s Scott Eklund.

Paama, the No. 6 player in Hawaii (per 247Sports), had offers from three other Pac-12 schools: USC, Arizona State and Oregon.
Paama’s film shows a destructive force who’s almost unblockable at the high school level. The defensive tackle is surprisingly nimble for his size, displaying an ability to stunt and rush with startling power. He also plays on the offensive line at Kaimuki High School, but is being recruited by Washington to play defensive line.

The Huskies have built quite a reputation for imposing interior defenders in recent years with Danny Shelton and Vita Vea. Paama appears to be a player with a similar style, except significantly taller.
