The start of the college football season is approaching, which means preseason polls and All-America teams are being rolled out.
Sports Illustrated released its preseason All-America selections Wednesday, and Washington had two representatives.
Linebacker Azeem Victor was a first-team selection, while running back Myles Gaskin was voted onto the second-team.
Victor racked up 67 total tackles before his junior campaign ended with a broken right leg in November, still good enough for the third-most tackles on his team. Despite missing the final four games, he was named a first-team All-Pac-12 player last season.
Gaskin followed up his electric freshman season with an equally strong sophomore one. He rushed for 1,373 yards and 10 scores, and he added another 137 yards and a touchdown through the air.
Other Pac-12 players voted as a SI’s first-team All-American were Washington State’s Cody O’Connell, USC linebacker Cameron Smith and Utah punter Mitch Wishnowsky. USC quarterback Sam Darnold and Oregon running back Royce Freeman were selected to the second team.
