The 3-star defender lists himself as both a linebacker and long snapper (the second is quietly valuable) with a 3.8 GPA, according to his Twitter bio. The 247Sports composite ranks him as the No. 8 prospect in Hawaii, No. 71 linebacker in the U.S. and No. 995 recruit overall.
Ah You collected 14 offers from schools ranging from Washington to Dartmouth. His scholarship offers included four Pac-12 schools, including Arizona State, Oregon and Oregon State.
“Just the way I felt there, everything was amazing,” Ah You told 247Sports’ Blair Angulo. “The coaches are great and they’re surrounding the program with great things. It was a combination of the coaches making me feel comfortable and knowing they are looking out for their players. They just have the best to offer all around.
“The coaches build up the players to not only succeed on the field and in the classroom, but also as great young men. It’s something I am used to with my parents and I couldn’t find a better place to continue my education and football career.”
Fellow Class of 2019 commitment Dylan Morris seemed pleased by the news:
