The excitement level at West Virginia football games should rise this season.
West Virginia athletic director Shane Lyons took to Twitter on Wednesday to hype the school’s new HD video board.

It will be the largest scoreboard in the state and brings the Mountaineers at least in the ballpark with other schools in the Big 12.
Texas set the standard with Godzillatron, but schools such as Oklahoma, Baylor and Iowa State also have impressive display boards.
The new construction immediately boosts what the Mountaineers will be able to do for their in-game presentation.
Scoreboard debuts at Mountaineers’ home opener
It’s understandable why the new scoreboard excites Lyons so much. It will first be featured at the Mountaineers’ Sept. 9 home debut against East Carolina.
West Virginia coach Dana Holgorsen will be charged with trying to break the board — at least in the columns set aside for points scored by the Mountaineers.
