The 2019 cycle has nearly a full year to completion, but the West Virginia Mountaineers are already a finalist for a key target.
On Sunday evening, Savannah (Ga.) Memorial Day School athlete Winston Wright announced his top three and West Virginia is still in the mix, along with UCF and Boston College.

Along with West Virginia, UCF and Boston College, Wright holds offers from programs such as Florida Atlantic, Wake Forest and Western Kentucky, with 14 total invitations.
Wright’s West Virginia offer didn’t come until Feb. 1, but when it did, the Mountaineers immediately emerged as the favorite, he told Chris Anderson of 247Sports. Bearing that in mind, Dana Holgorsen and his staff should feel good about where they stand with the versatile prospect, whom they’re recruiting as a wide receiver.
As a junior, Wright rushed for 149 yards and 2 touchdowns on 21 carries, and hauled in another 9 receptions for 200 yards and 3 scores, according to his MaxPreps profile, although stats are only listed for five games.
A 5-foot-9, 155-pound prospect, Wright is ranked as the nation’s No. 532 player, No. 53 athlete and the No. 62 player in Georgia, per the 247Sports Composite.
