A 6-foot-6, 275-pound tackle, Beaver comes from a Northern Virginia recruiting area that West Virginia hasn’t often dipped into in recent years. Beaver committed to West Virginia over a number of offers from ACC schools and Florida, and was considered a likely Virginia Tech commit for much of his recruitment.
West Virginia offered Beaver on April 25, and he committed after visiting campus during West Virginia’s annual summer 7-on-7 event this weekend. A consensus 3-star prospect according to 247Sports composite, Beaver is currently ranked the No. 19 player in Virginia and the No. 81 tackle in the Class of 2019.
Beaver adds a big body to a Class of 2019 that has come along slower than many other Big 12 schools, as it is ranked eighth among league programs. Beaver is the first offensive lineman to commit to the class, which ranks 68th nationally.
